About

Welcome! I am Uijun.

An digital product designer at The Knot Worldwide based in New York.

My approach to design is to make people’s lives better.

After working at Pantech as a mobile UX designer for 5 years, I decided to moved to NYC and pursue my Master’s degree in Interaction Design at SVA. During the time, I've worked at Amphora and focused on designing AI based chatting platform since I believe intelligent personal assistant is a core to innovate people's lives in the near future. Currently, I am working at The Knot’s growth team helping people plan their party, navigate and enjoy life’s biggest moments together, and eventually make unforgettable memory.

Side projects include: Kiwi - creating immersive reading experience for high school students with funds backed by Verizon and co-founded CUT & DRY - a kitchen tool perfect for small kitchens, which was successfully backed on Kickstarter.

I've also worked on projects with the Google’s LinkNYC kiosk, NYC Department of Veterans' Services, SVA Library, and NPR. You can check out my work with them in my portfolio.

How did I jump into this field? While majoring in Industrial Design at college, I was deeply inspired by an idea that designers must take multidisciplinary consideration in that people easily make mistakes when encountered design problems. From then on, I have been putting all my energy into acquiring skills and knowledge in basic and advanced design methods for grasping human behavior, needs, and interaction.

I'm always interested in meeting and chatting with new people, so please email me to say hi!

Thanks for stopping by!
